Don't Die Fishing started with a simple observation: the morning of a trip, the information that decides it — wind, swell, tide, warnings, the rulebook — lives in five different places. So the decision gets made at the ramp, under time pressure, from memory.
The name is the promise to take planning seriously enough to joke about the stakes. The product is one page per launch site: a planning verdict, the signals behind it, the tide and solunar windows, and the regulations that apply where you are putting in — for recreational boaters and anglers who run small craft on coastal water.

Wind, waves, tide, warnings, and visibility become a single GO / CAUTION / NO-GO planning score, computed against the vessel and thresholds you set.

Scheduled trips re-check against the latest public data until you cast off. A status flip means a push alert — before the trailer leaves the driveway, not after.

Share a float plan link with your crew, set an expected return, and check in on the way home. Overdue past your window, the app escalates once: push to you, email to your shore contact.

Conditions come from public NOAA and NWS feeds — marine forecasts, buoy and station observations, tides, and warnings. Regulations are catalogued from official state agency pages, with every rule row carrying its source link and a weekly freshness check.
